What Can an Animal's Skull Tell Us?

An animal's skull offers valuable clues about how it lived its role in the forest. The shape of the teeth reveals diet, eye placement hints whether an animal  was predator or prey, and the size and structure of the skull reflect how it moved and survived in its environment. The skulls featured here come from animals commonly found in New Brunswick's forests and help tell the story of a healthy, connected ecosystem where every species plays a role. This project was made possible with support from the New Brunswick Wildlife Trust Fund, whose commitment to conservation and education helps deepen understanding of New Brunswick's wildlife and natural spaces.
