Background:
Meduxnekeag River Association, in collaboration with the Nature Trust of New Brunswick, offers an annual Wildflower Walk each Spring. Traditionally held on the Sunday afternoon of the Victoria Day weekend in May, when the spring ephemeral wildflowers are at their best, we visit one or more Appalachian Hardwood Forest sites in the Meduxnekeag watershed. Led by naturalist Jim Goltz, the walks usually attract forty to sixty participants and provide an introduction to identifying local woodland flowers as well as an opportunity for appreciation and photography. The Wildflower Walks are free, although donations to the Association or the Trust are always appreciated.
